I am a Psychologist, Creator of the Reflex Integration Program – MNRI (USA, Poland, Russia) working with children with Autism, Cerebral Palsy and other neurodeficits. I teach my Program internationally (www.MasgutovaMethod.com). For years I, as a University Lecturer and Scientific Worker of the Academy, was recommending the parents of these children to participate in ‘Dolphin Therapy’ Programs and to visit ‘Dolphin places’ in different countries.
Several months ago I started noticing that children that were in communication with dolphins started getting into a strange state close to depression. This I watched in more and more children. I started my talks with other my colleagues in USA and other countries. There were some reasonable explanations (“the desire for more new events and adrenaline increase”, “excitement of children that saw the dolphins, and later at home had no possibility for novelty – their brain wants some ‘doping’ “, and other different opinions). I became more and more curious – ‘WHY?” My American friend stated that ‘The Dolphin therapy” cannot be a good tool as far as they carry memory of sadness of killed brothers, sisters, parents of theirs, and this was the reason for growing depression in children, especially with challenges”. She handed me the documentary “The COVE”. UNBELIEVABLE! Now I understand why communication with captured dolphins can carry sadness. I am so very much angry, that the truth about captured dolphins was hidden. Now I also learned that dolphins are kept hungry to activate their play with audiences and kids during “Therapy sessions”. Such a shame… I get more and more information about their training for play with children.
We need to protect all and any dolphins. Years ago I was teaching as part of University curriculum the topic about high intelligence and awareness of Dolphins. I am in protest against of cruel use of dolphins. On my lectures I was telling that these Alive Beings possibly connected with each other worldwide and always know about Ocean/Sea and other World events and communicate on higher acoustic/resonation level…
I am going to spread the news about the need to protect all dolphins in any country I will visit. I plan to activate journalists in Europe. I know some people that do and participate in ‘Dolphin therapies” only to make money… Please, how the Oceanic Preservation Society can help me to stop some of cruel approach for dolphins? The use of captured dolphins is not helping our children – it possibly brings to more psychological problems , future neurodeficits and developmental problems. We must bring this information to professionals’ awareness. My Team will follow me, I am sure. How can we start this process of increasing the awareness of people about the need to take care of highest intelligent Ocean/Sea friends? What ways are more sufficient? Accurate, Safe and Resentful? Please, suggestions.

    Sincerely,
Svetlana Masgutova, Post Ph.D. in Developmental Psychology.
