The “J” Connection

By Dyske    August 21st, 2009

A friend of mine posted this YouTube video on Facebook (see below). It’s a Japanese TV program that investigates the possible historical connection between Jews and Japanese. I asked my dad about this and he said this is old news. He read a book about this 20 years ago.

I’ve always thought that the Jewish values are quite similar to the Japanese values. The fact that I have a lot of Jewish friends, I don’t think, is a coincidence.

In any case, even if this is completely bogus, it’s still interesting (or at least amusing), as I’m a big fan of crazy Jewish conspiracy theories as entertainment.

That is brilliant. Loved finding it, and I’ve run it (with credit to you) at Thanks!

The idea that the 2 ethnic groups are related just because they both start with “J” is preposterous.

Jews don’t look anything like Japanese, but you don’t have to take my word for it.

Try out this program that teaches you how to spot jews and notice the complete lack of resemblance:

Meghan: I’m a Jew and unfortunately can’t open the link above. I think my work blocks the address.
By the way, it has nothing to do with “the two ethnic groups are related because they both start with “J”.”
More about the fact that there is a supposed ancient archeological site in Japan which some say is an ancient Jewish temple. Also, I believe the Japanese noble men centuries ago wore a box-like thing on their heads, similar in appearence to the Jewish Tfillim. Tfillim is a Hebrew word for a box and series of leather straps that Orthodox Jews wear while praying. The box contains scripture from the Hebrew bible. Some Japanese have said this proves a link.

this is absurd– on that little chart comparing hebrew to japanese, half those letters weren’t even drawn right!

One of the ten lost tribes is believed to have ended up in Afghanistan and Pashtuns(the dominant ethnic group) are related to them.

the reason you have many jewish friends is because more than likely you belong to solid middle class where many asian and jewish families are part of.
