Haruhi Dance Craze

I’ve never seen this, but apparently there is a very popular show anime show in Japan called “The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya” whose closing credit sequence has the characters dancing. Somehow it created a mania where people around the world are mimicking the dance in costumes.

In this one, Darth Vader comes in at about the third of the way in. This one is in London. In this one, a girl (probably British) travels all over Japan dancing. In this one, a bunch of Japanese kids dance on the street; towards the end, cops appear and they all scatter quickly. I posted the original ending credit sequence below:

    Hare hare yukai is a nice fun energetic song! That’s why…
    but Vader joining in is a bit bizzare

    The gal that danced all over japan isn’t british. Shes american. From Arizona to be specific. She attends/attended a local anime convention regularly.

    Thats funny, because some friends of mine have been trying to convince me to learn this dance with them. In fact, the main person trying to convince people to join in is a white girl. And the person who is most against the idea is a Japanese guy. >.> The group that wants to learn the dance together even assigned alias’ from the anime to people. I think I’m supposed to be the character called Koizumi or something.

    By the way, I live in Southern California and just graduated from High School.
