What Japan needs right now, more than anything else, is your emotional support. If you are a foreigner living in Japan, and want to get out of there, then just get out, but don’t spread hysteria or panic, since that only makes things worse. (Yeah, thanks a lot Gregory Jaczko!)

February 11th, 2012 at 7:42 amI’m from Christchurch, my friend (house mate) is Japanese and her parents freaked about her being here with our sudden attack of Earth Quakes. Then japan had one, and she freaked about her parents as she didn’t hear from them for a while after. They were OK, thankfully.
EQuakes suck, you loose everything in seconds with no warning. Its care and understanding we need and patience! When you loose your job, home, belongings, photos, passwords and need to borrow clothes sleep in strange houses, accept the help from strangers because you’ve lost all your social circles, work circles, lost all friends-its patience and understanding from others that is important. Its a very confusing time. You cant change what happened, or is happening only-how you think about it. The only way through for me is to accept it, that connection to the past is lost, and I have to restart again. Everyone just has to. I was supposed to be doing a whole lot of other things. You don’t even get to finish arguments (if you had any).
For Japan, we knew when their hit that the struggle had only just begun, it gets worse. Especially when the unaffected loose patience or treat the affected as third worlders.
Hey, I also loved your comment about Steve, that’s funny, I’d be like him-embarrassing. But I’m bad with names too so I’d need the colored T-shirts:-)
